  • 8 cups popped popcorn
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Optional: chocolate drizzle and sprinkles

Instructions
 

  • Start by popping the popcorn and placing it in a large bowl.
  • In a saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, butter, and salt.
  • Heat the mixture over medium heat until it boils.
  • Stir constantly for 2-3 minutes until it thickens.
  • Remove from heat and add vanilla extract.
  • Pour the syrup over the popcorn and mix well.
  • Allow the mixture to cool slightly for easier handling.
  • Grease your hands with butter or cooking spray.
  • Shape the popcorn mixture into balls, about the size of a golf ball.
  • Place the formed balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper to cool.
