- 4 large russet potatoes
- Olive oil
- Salt
- Pepper
- Optional toppings: butter sour cream, cheese, chives, bacon bits, baked beans
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
Wash the potatoes thoroughly under cold water.
Pat the potatoes dry with a towel.
Prick each potato several times with a fork to allow steam to escape.
Rub the potatoes with olive oil and sprinkle with salt.
Place the potatoes directly on the oven rack.
Bake for 45-60 minutes until the skin is crispy and the inside is soft.
Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes.
Cut a slit in the top of each potato and gently squeeze the sides to fluff the insides.
Add your favorite toppings and enjoy!
