- 200 g spaghetti or linguine
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- 60 ml olive oil
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes optional
- Salt to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley chopped
- Grated Parmesan cheese for serving
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta according to package instructions.
While the pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant but not browned.
If using, add red pepper flakes to the skillet and stir well.
Once the pasta is al dente, reserve 1 cup of pasta water and drain the rest.
Add the drained pasta to the skillet with garlic oil.
Toss the pasta in the skillet to coat it with the garlic oil.
Add reserved pasta water gradually until the desired consistency is reached.
Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
Remove from heat and garnish with chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese before serving.
