- 1 jar of dill pickles sliced or whole
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 cup buttermilk
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Salt and pepper to taste
Start by draining the pickles and patting them dry with paper towels.
In a bowl, mix the flour, cornmeal, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
In another bowl, pour the buttermilk.
Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or a large pot to 350°F (175°C).
Dip each pickle slice into the buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off.
Coat the pickles in the flour mixture, ensuring they're fully covered.
Carefully place the coated pickles in the hot oil, frying in batches.
Fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
Remove the pickles and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to absorb excess oil.
Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
