Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Sesame seeds optional

Instructions
 

  • In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt.
  • Pour the yeast mixture and olive oil into the flour mixture.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place for 30 minutes.
  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Punch down the risen dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces.
  • Roll each piece into a long stick, about 6 inches long.
  • Place the breadsticks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Brush the tops with olive oil, and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and garlic powder.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
